Unfortunately, there are many things in this world that can attack and harm the teeth and gums, especially for teenagers. This is why it’s important for teens to work hard each day to care for their smile and maintain optimal oral health. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to achieve those goals, and our dentist, Dr. Robert Wagner, is happy to tell you all about them. To achieve a good oral health as a teen, you should do the following things:

-Keep up on oral hygiene (Brush twice a day and floss and rinse daily.)

-Attend your dental checkups (Receive a dental cleaning and exam every six months.)

-Stay away from soda and other smile-harming products (Sugary and acidic products can cause erosion and cavities.)

-Avoid using tobacco (Tobacco can destroy the teeth and gums.)

-Use a mouthguard (A mouthguard can prevent oral injury, like knocked-out teeth, when you participate in high-contact sports and activities.)

-If you have braces, follow the instructions provided by your orthodontist (Doing so will help you have healthy teeth and a top-notch orthodontic journey.)

-Drink water throughout the day (This can help you prevent dry mouth and keep oral bacteria at bay.)

-Chew gum regularly (This can help you increase your saliva production, which can help you wash oral bacteria away.)

-Avoid snacking (Snacking constantly exposes your teeth to the bacteria that create dental issues.)
