If you do have some stray food matter invade the base of the dentures, you should thoroughly rinse the entire set clean. After drying it with a clean paper towel, you should then reapply a fresh line of denture adhesive to the newly cleaned surface.
It’s also important to rinse your dentures thoroughly at the end of each day. This will help clear away residual denture adhesive and plaque buildup and provide a smooth surface so you can reapply the denture adhesive the next day. You should then brush all the surfaces of your dentures with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a little nonabrasive denture polish. You can then store your partial overnight by soaking it in water and keeping it in a safe place.
It might also be a good idea to brush your tongue to reduce the overall bacterial load in your mouth and reduce your chances of having bad breath.
